It's not every day that you come across a company that has stood the test of time for more than 2 centuries. 

This is what Matfer Bourgeat, a family-owned French industrial group has managed to achieve. Founded in 1814, the group has become the world leader in supplying extraordinary tools and technologies to Chefs and professional kitchens everywhere. 



It is nearly impossible today to walk into a restaurant, a cloud kitchen, a pastry shop, a bakery, or even into the kitchen of an accomplished home cook and not find a Matfer Bourgeat product.

200+ years of history, tradition, and expertise

Established in 1814 in the culinary center of Old Paris (Les Halles) by a talented metalsmith named Charles Trottier making copper & tin molds for pastry, the company quickly rose in prominence to become the official supplier of " The Imperial Court of Russia", as well as other lesser dignitaries across Europe. 



Since then, the company passed hands multiple times, fortunately always to the right new acquirer, who grew it further and left it better, stronger, and more successful. We counted six eras in its history, each spanning a minimum of 20 years: Trottier 1814-1899, Delaverne 1899-1924, Mora 1924-1949, Matfer 1949-2002, and finally Matfer Bourgeat 2002 onwards. 

Each era was characterized by a new owner, a change of address, the acquisition of new technology and companies, and an outward expansion toward the rest of the world.
